One of Vietnam’s youngest cities, Dalat was founded by French doctor Alexandre Yersin in 1893.
Today it is the main city of Lam Dong province. Some 300km from Ho Chi Minh City, it is a romantic location known as the City of Love or Le Petit Paris. The area enjoys a mild climate, like an eternal spring with beautiful views, waterfalls, lakes, pine forests, flower gardens and French-built villas. Ethnic minorities include the Co Ho, the Ma and the Lat.
Dalat’s economy is based primarily on tourism.

3.1.4. Getting There

Air Daily flights leave at 10am from HCM City (except Sundays). Vietnam Airlines’ office in Dalat is at 1 Quang Trung; Lien Khuong airport is 29km from the city, off the HCM City road.
Bus From HCM City takes between five and six hours. The bus station is 1.5km from the city, at 3 Thang 4.
