Hoi An was one of South East Asia’s busiest ports in the 16^th century, when it was settled by Japanese and Chinese merchants. This mixed cultural heritage can be seen today in the town’s architecture, with the famous Japanese covered bridge and streets of houses built in traditional Chinese style, some beautifully restored, others still used as they have been for centuries.
UNESCO recently named the town one of Vietnam’s four World Heritage sites. Hoi An is surrounded by mountainous peaks rising to over 2,000m.

Bus From Danang bus station (at 33 Dien Bien Phu). Hoi An bus station is at 74 Huynh Thuc Khang; open 5am to 5pm.

3.5.6. My Son Sanctuary

The holy Champa city, was recently recognised as a World Heritage site. It was an important Cham intellectural and religious centre, and also served as a burial place for Cham monarchs. The Monuments are set in a verdant valley shadowed by Cat’s Tooth Mountain.
