Quang Binh’s strip of land spreads out as an imposing picture with forests, sea, beautiful natural landscapes and famous beauty spots like Ngang pass, Ly Hoa pass, Nhat Le estuary, Hac Hai lagoon, Cong Troi, the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha – Ke Bang.
Quang Binh is a civilized land, with archaeological sites of the Bau Tro, Hoa Binh and Dong Son cultures, many historical relics such as Quang Binh Quan, Luy Thay, Rao Sen, Ngo Dynasty Citadel, the outer walls of Trinh-Nguyen and sites Cu Nam, Canh Duong, Xuan Bo, Cha Lo, Cong Troi, Gianh river and the Ho Chi Minh trail. Through history, famous cultural villages have formed and been handed down from generation to generation.
One of these is the “Bat danh huong (the village of eight famous features)”, including “mountains, rivers, scenes, lands, literature, martial art, history, and gold”. The land has also generated eminent figures in military art, culture and society, such as Duong Van An, Le Thanh Hau, Nguyen Huu Canh, Nguyen Ham Ninh and Vo Nguyen Giap.

3.14.2. Getting There

Air No airport in Quang Binh. Vietnam Airlines flies from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Hue. Quang Binh is 160km from Hue to the north, maybe go from Hue to Quang Binh by bus ticket: VND100,000 or by train (ticket: VND59,000).
Train Dong Hoi railway station at Hoang Dieu Street, Dong Hoi City. Train ticket from HCMC to Quang Binh is VND450,000.
