The province is 50 km to the north west of Hanoi. It is famous for nearly 500 historical relics and cultural sites. Of these, the Binh Son Tower in Tam Son Village, Lap Thach District is the most notable. The tower is a great architectural work built in the Ly Dynasty.
Other famous relics includes the temple of Hai Ba Trung (the Trung Sisters) in Me Linh District, Tran Nguyen Han Temple in Lap Trach, the 79 Springs Hill to commemorate Uncle Ho, the Tay Thien Mother Goddess Temple. The traffic system in the province include roads, waterways and airway.
